Black Lentil Soup

  • Black lentils 200 g
  • Egyptian rice 30 g
  • Diced onions 50 g
  • Cumin 2 g
  • Salt 5 g
  • Sweet pepper 2 g
  • Cinnamon 1 g
  • Parsley 20 g
  • Water 800 g
  • Fresh lemon 1 pc


  • Wash and soak Egyptian rice in water. Add water and black lentils in a saucepan. Bring it to boil. Reduce heat to low and cook for 20 minutes or until very tender.
  • Discard the water. Blend the lentils until fine in a blender and return to the saucepan. Add Egyptian rice, onions, parsley, salt, sweet pepper and cinnamon. Boil it until the rice is almost cooked.
  • Serve the soup in a bowl with a fresh lemon wedge aside.
